T4 Global seeks to empower local leaders and churches to affect change in their own communities. We are convinced that they know what they are doing! They know their communities, their culture, their language and their way of doing training.
Our role is to simply come along side to help them build their strategies… their training programs… their churches… their communities.
How do we help? There are targeted areas where we can fill in some gaps, build their capacity, and share lessons learned from other places. For training efforts to be sustainable, however, local partners need to own the process and assume leadership.
Too often, well-intended people and organizations from the outside use a different methodology. They arrive with pre-packaged solutions which are usually crafted in a completely different cultural context. While politely received, the curriculum and training materials rarely result in transformation. The outsiders return home, the novelty fades, interest wanes, and live are unchanged.
At T4 Global, we have chosen to use simple, open technologies and platforms for our training. That way, we can easily transfer our skills, knowledge, and technology to our indigenous partners so they can continue training long after we are gone.
We never do a project for them; we always do a project with them. All of our training materials are developed and produced on the ground in the communities where we work. We want our local partners to participate from day one with the planning, implemention and evaluation of a project.
How do we know if we have been successful? When our local indigenous partners begin implementing their own training programs without our help–measurable evidence that transformation has occurred!
